Cindy Ngo, English Teacher

ENGTCHRBio: Ms. Ngo is an English teacher at Jordan High School with a strong background in both Visual and Performing Arts. She began her musical training at the age of four, studying piano and keyboard theory, and earned the Advanced Level certification from the Music Teachers’ Association of California (MTAC), where she also performed in an Honors Recital. She later expanded her musical experience by playing clarinet and then French horn, performing all four years in West Torrance High School’s Marching Band and Wind Ensemble, and serving as a section leader her senior year. Her passion for the arts also includes drawing, sketching, and pastel work.

 

Ms. Ngo holds a Single Subject Credential in English. She began her college journey at El Camino College before transferring to UC San Diego, where she earned her B.A. in Sociology. She later completed her Master’s in Education and teaching credential through UCLA’s Teacher Education Program (TEP), and is also certified in Ethnic Studies.

 

Outside of the classroom, Ms. Ngo is an LA County Ocean Lifeguard and Junior Lifeguard Instructor during the summer. She enjoys swimming, surfing, reading, writing, and playing video games. In her free time, she also loves spending time with her dog and attending movies, musicals, ballet, and live music events.
